Congratulations, Queen!
I'd love to learn more about the development of Kwanzaa. How were the principles chosen? I think learning about this might be helpful for my capstone. Got any resources??

Kwanzaa was founded in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga based on a philosophy called Kawaida. He traveled Africa and recognized that there were harvest celebrations throughout the continent. Kwanzaa is an African American harvest celebration and a communal holiday. The principles should be lived all year long. During the holiday we Remember, Restore, Reclaim and Recommit. One of the best resources is Dr. Karenga's book- The African American Holiday of Kwanzaa. Good luck on your capstone. Let's talk more while still at residency.
